Richard Sherman, D.O. is an anesthesiologist and family physician with a passion for revolutionizing mental health treatment in the upstate. His mission is to bring relief to those battling severe depression through cutting-edge ketamine therapy.

Dr. Sherman earned his Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine degree from Des Moines University. His unwavering commitment to excellence led him to complete residencies in Family Practice and Anesthesiology, where he honed his skills and expertise.

Dr. Sherman and his wife moved to Simpsonville, South Carolina in the late 1990’s to raise their young boys in this beautiful area.  He founded Carolina Treatment Centers in 1999, the premier destination for comprehensive opioid use disorder treatment in the Carolinas. With over two decades of experience, Dr. Sherman’s contributions to the field of addiction treatment and mental health are unparalleled. His compassionate approach and unwavering commitment to patient care have earned him widespread recognition throughout South Carolina.  He was recognized in April 2024 by the SC Governor and the SC Center of Excellence in Addiction for his contributions to serving vulnerable citizens of SC and saving lives and families.

Driven by personal struggles, Dr Sherman himself experienced remarkable results from ketamine therapy leading him to the opening of Ketamine Solutions.
