The twenty-four voices of this professional ensemble within the Chorale will perform Johannes Brahms’ “Liebeslieder Walzer” (Lovesong Walzes). These delightful poems from the 19th century are set in waltz time for piano four-hands and various vocal groupings (solo, duet, men, women, ensemble).
Each song captures the unique spirit of the poem. Nancy Smith, accompanist for the Chorale and the Chamber Ensemble will be joined by Lynne Robinson at the keyboard. Also on the program are more contemporary settings of love songs, ideal for a fine chamber ensemble, including several cool settings with jazz ensemble.
